Atkisson Sno Park: Ice Caves Loop

Atkisson Sno Park and Trail Overview

The Atkisson Sno Park offers great opportunities to cross country ski at this Nordic center near Mt Adams.  The trail is near Trout Lake and offers parking for 30 cars and a toilets and a shelter for a wood stove.  This park is in an amazing wilderness setting and offers the opportunity to have groomed skiing trails for cross country skis and segregated trails for Nordic purposes.  Snowmobiles do share the Sno Park so it is important to note that you will hear the growl of nearby snowmobiles at times in winter.  Weekends are obviously the busiest time here so be forewarned that if you are looking for a secluded ski experience you should consider some other options near Mt Hood or the Columbia Gorge like  the Teacup Lake Cross Country Ski Trails.
