Rok Climbing Ozone

Ozone is a rock climbing area perched high above the Columbia Gorge in Washington.  This area is one of the most popular and arguably the best spot to climb in the Portland metro–arguably.  Ozone has over 80 established routes and the nearby–by nearby I mean 5 minute walk east–Far Side cliff.  Ozone has many mixed bolt and trad climbs and a few sport routes but be aware that most routes are trad/bolt mix and you should bring gear.

Routes here are not recommended to be set up to toprope from above but nearly all routes have two-bolt anchor stations.  Always bring your own slings to towrope to keep wear off the anchors and don’t lower from the rings rappel to keep wear at a minimum.

This area is often dry in and after rain–don’t believe the rumors about how wet this area is here are some quick facts about the sepage at the Zone:  Lots off overhanging rock so you can climb even in light rain, its really shaded but for some bizarre reason certain routes dry really quick, most of the routes are steep enough to ward off rain.
